Volunteering for All - Supported Volunteering

Volunteering for All hands- Supported Volunteering Programme

Volunteering for All is for people who would like to volunteer but feel they need some support in order to do so.

Volunteering for All offers:

- A chance to move on

- Help to get started

- A Support Worker who can offer you advice and support every step of the way

- A meeting with the Support Worker to discuss your interests, skills and the support you need

- You can bring along your key worker or a friend to this meeting

- We can discuss the volunteering options available to you and which ones you are interested in

- We can listen to your worries and concerns, and help find ways to overcome them

Our Support Worker can:

- Come with you to visit the organisation

- Accompany you to meet the people you will be working with

- Arrange a 'tester session'

- Help you to complete any forms

- Help you to obtain references

- Introduce you to a volunteer partner to work alongside you

- Offer you the option of building a volunteer's portfolio

- Keep in touch to offer you ongoing support

Suppose I change my mind?  If you decide you are not ready to volunteer at this time, we encourage you to return whenever you feel the time is right for you.  If you want to consider other options at a later date, we can support you in this.  Volunteering is about choice - no pressure, no deadlines - you choose what you want to do and when you want to do it

I have nothing to offer:  We believe everyone has something to offer.  We can help you identify your skills, interests and abilities.

I have good days and bad days: We can help you find a volunteer role where this would not be a problem.

I find mornings difficult: We can help you look at volunteering opportunities that are at a time which suits you.

I need ongoing support: Our Support Worker can continue to support you after you start volunteering.

I do not have my own transport: We can assist you with using public transport and knowledge of routes to organisations.

I have a criminal record: We can try to find a volunteer role where this is not a problem.

What do you do now? We can arrange a time to meet to discuss what type of voluntary work you would like to do and when you are available.  Alternatively, you can browse volunteering opportunities in your area at www.do-it.org.uk where you can apply online or simply call us for more information.

Our service is confidential.  We strongly value diversity and welcome volunteers form all sections of the community.  See the Volunteer Centre address details on the 'Contact us page' for ways to get in touch.
